Biography
I am an artist and activist working for a just, sustainable world. After studying documentary film at Cornell University, and serving as Director of Education & Outreach for the New York-based nonprofit Arts Engine for six years, I joined forces with my parter Ari Moore in 2008 to create Shirari Industries. We moved to Ithaca, NY in September 2008 where we are forming an affordable, low-impact ecovillage based on the principles of compassion and respect for humans, other animals and the environment. Once formed, the community will be an incubator for art, activism and creative collaboration.

Hi Shira,
Todd told me you are up to create an intentinoal community in Ithaca. I am trying to spread awareness about the cohousing movement in italy. So keep me update with your project. Did you know about the the very first international cohousing summit, in seattle in june. I won't go but you might be interested or know friends there.
I have also seen you sent a comment on the Films That Matter festival, where todd told me once you used to work. So in case you have any documnetary project, keep us updated on the documentary maker group ;-)
Ciao!

Hi Shira,
Thanks for all the site recommendations! A few were already familiar to me but most are new so it will be great to get ideas and inspiration from them!
I still know relatively little about the Video Volunteers program but as soon as I get a better grasp of it, I`ll tell you more...
My best,
Gabriela
