Karunwi Kolawole Kayode, fondly called KK by friends was born in Lagos. He obtained his Higher National Diploma from Yaba College of Technology in 1993, where he made tremendous impact with his unique approach and versatility in execution of his assignments and projects. He specialized in painting with remarkable achievements.
He has participated in many art activities and exhibitions both at home and abroad, his creative impact on the beholder is quite impressive. He has executed many projects on paintings and creative metal works out of which are murals at ABB quarters at Jabi, Abuja, American International School, V/I Lagos, and several homes and corporate organizations.
He has to his credit some of his paintings in the collection of the following people to mention a few.

His works have traveled wide through the globe. His chief mediums of expression are; Oil on Canvass, Water Colour, Pastels, Resin on Fibre Laminate, Polyester, Acrylic etc.
His works echo uniqueness and question our sense of beauty .
His years of experience with research into light and color have culminated in the present style of paintings which comes in its own uniqueness with his palette knife approach which allow for great freedom and exploration. His art has passed through a passage of timelessness which makes his art echoes a language of universal coherence, a language any great art should speak.
He has practice through intensive research on visual essence since he graduated till date.
The product you see today are careful thought and observation of the life reality.
He uphold the truth of vision which stipulates that “color is the element of light”
This is the basis of his new approach.
Karunwi K.K is a member of society of Nigerian Artists, Associate Member of the Nigerian institute of Management.
In the year 1993 he won AP Press Award for excellence
In 1999 He won second place in the Our World In The Year 200 local competition
In Nigeria.
He has had several Exhibitions out of which are the following:
“Strides In Time” 1996, Strokes of Our Time , Our World In The Year 2000(Stockholm), color of peace 2003.
Artist Statement: a new generation of artists must find a new way of expression anything short of this is a sheer laziness.
