when the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace

There are a lot of smart people out there

"If success or failure of this planet and of human beings depended on how I am and what I do... HOW WOULD I BE? WHAT WOULD I DO?" - Buckminster Fuller

"Never give children a chance of imagining that anything exists in isolation. Make it plain from the very beginning that all living is relationship. Show them relationships in the woods, in the fields, in the ponds and streams, in the village an...d in the country around it. Rub it in." - Aldous Huxley

"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." - Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama

"When individuals join in a cooperative venture, the power generated far exceeds what they could have accomplished acting individually." - Buckminster Fuller

Profile Information

Biography
I'm an activist / artist living in Ithaca, New York. My partner Shira and I are participating in organizing a fledgling mutual aid network called Share Tompkins and are working to preserve our local environment with an action coalition called Shaleshock. We also work with Ithaca Freeskool to provide free, radical, peer-to-peer education and skillshares, and we offer freelance and volunteer consulting and creative services to artists and non-profits, including freeDimensional (we made this website!). I also make art, read as much as I can, and enjoy vegan baking and playing with our three adopted cat housemates, Sid, Zora, and Snow.

How I heard about fD and why I'm here
My partner Shira Golding told me about fD several years ago, when she was working with Arts Engine on the Media That Matters Film Festival. fD's Executive Director Todd Lester was doing film work then, associated with the festival and with fD.

Shira and I made this website and did a lot of the writing and video work for it, and at times I have coordinated fD's web presence, newsletter, and other communications.

Take a stand for free expression in 2010 by making a contribution today

In 2009 freeDimensional helped 15 activists and artists in distress access safe havens around the world - people like Indonesian journalist Rien Kuntari, who wrote about her emergency safe haven placement, "Here, I not only have a chance to breathe and to feel the fresh air flowing on my face, to see the natural beauty in this quiet and peaceful place, but also to write... what I have here is beyond my… Continue

Media That Matters Film Festival: Submit your short social-issue documentaries now!

I got to know Arts Engine, the organization behind the Media That Matters Film Festival, when my partner Shira Golding worked for them as their Director of Education and Outreach. These folks are doing incredible work and they can really help fledgling documentary filmmakers to get their films seen, and their causes acted upon - the films stream online all year, along with take-action links. Please consider submitting… Continue

You were asking to me how people can donate to fix the building for mi Art Center after the Chile earthquake..well I used to not have a tool for this. The specific problems are now remove debris and fix the roof even though the house hasn´t serious structural problems... I really appreciate your interest, and who can help because this is totally self-managed and do not have any financial. Thank you for your idea, so I just created Paypal account, is momentarily in my personal site :

art, paintings, music, literature, activism for what? that is the fundamental and stretegic question for us. i think we should use them for social change and mental liberation. we should find new meanings and colours from our meningless lives .

I have been fighting against social injustice in pakistan for the last many years but it doesnot matter for me,what does matter is i am still very much alive and i wish if i could spend my whole life fighing injustice and exploitation all over the globe. That is the best way to leave this world in a dignified and in a true human way.

pakistan is now safe heaven for drug mafia, feudals, terrorists, corrupt Generals , corrupt politicians, but hell for workers, intellectuals, women, professors, painters , and human rights activists. Because in pakistan cowards are very very strong because they love power to abuse helpless and powerless humans.

rape, honour killings, acid throwing, character assassination, political victimisations, is every where in so called islamic and democratic pakistan. it is shame for our stupid president zardari that he is still enjoying his status quo at the expanse of his own wife and 180 million helpless people.

Vice chancellor zafarullah of Bahauddin Zakria universityv multan and our banana government is directly responsiple for toruring me , my wife and hundreds of female students. They fely threatened from our revolutionary female students because it was first time in the history of southern punjub which is a breeding ground for terrorism and religious extremism now adays, hundreds of female students came out to demonstrate against brutal and barbaric discriminatory laws and traditions against women and workes. Girls were protesting for social justice in pakistan , but instead of appreciating and encouraging female students they were harrasssed, victimised, threatened, abused and tortured, because they felt obsessed from female upriging in the campus. i think it is shameful violation of basic democratic human rights .
