Simple rule to make this website useful for all

Dear all,
this webpage offers two ways to send news to the members: When you have an information to send to the members, please use teh "comment wall" below. The other one is the "discussion forum", to use only when someone asks a question and wants to trigger a debate. What internet users often do, is to start with a wall post; and if there are many answers, then they move to a discussion forum. Sorry for stressing this "rule", but be sure it will facilitate the use of the site, when it grows bigger.
Have a good day!
Mat

Dear Friends,

If you are in NYC, know someone in NYC or planning a visit to NYC on June 5th, please consider attending Enviro-Art and Family Activism for Climate Protection organized by the wondrous Sandra Sprecher.

Starting at 2:00pm on June 5th there will be new video sculptures by Sandra in the Petite Versailles Garden on the lower east side (Houston between Ave. B and C.) The video sculptures are a direct response to global warming.

In conjunction with these, Brooklyn’s own Parents for Climate Protection (www.climateactivism.org) will be organizing activities for kids. We would really love to have lots of kids and parents participate in this event. They will be writing and decorating letters to send to legislators.

At 8:00 PM there will be a video screening of works with an environmental focus by Sandra Sprecher, Michael Sheridan, Kristin Alexander, and Robert Todd.

Thanks and best wishes,
Michael

Event Details:
Saturday, June 5th
2pm-10pm
Screening at 8pm
Petite Versailles Garden on the lower east side (Houston between Ave. B and C.)

P.O.V., US public television's premier showcase for independent documentaries, seeks programs from all perspectives to showcase in its 2010 season of the annual national series. All subjects, styles and lengths are welcome. The next submission deadline for P.O.V. will be June 30, 2009.

P.O.V. is US public television's longest-running showcase for independent documentary. Each year, P.O.V. brings 12 to 16 new documentaries to the PBS broadcasters. If your non-fiction film has a strong perspective, a dedication to quality, contemporary relevance and a passion for your topic, then the P.O.V. series could be an option for a US television broadcast.

Hi all, for those based in Europe, or in co-production with europe, i strongly suggest to register with the fast growing Reelisor network. This is the biggest documentary-maker network in the EU, supported by the main institutions in the field. Commissioning editors are also starting to join it; so useful to pitch your project at development, production or finished level.
