Many of us have spoken with concern about the fear and intolerance growing around us, and have been wondering what we can do to stand up for our core values of diversity and respect.
Here are two things you can do:
Sign the statement of the NY Neighbors for American Values (www.nyneighbors.org).This is a new coalition of over 100 civic, cultural, and religious groups in support of inclusion, religious freedom, and equality, and the rights of Moslem-Americans to build a community center at 51 Park Place in New York City.
Attend NY Neighbor’s Candlelight Vigil on September 10 at 7:15 pm. Meet at the intersection of Church and Park Place in NYC and wear white.
In a time of growing polarization and fear, we need to send a strong message of solidarity, hope, and the power of cultural exchange.
