Event Description

The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program is part of a worldwide movement that sees culture as the crucible for all positive social change. By giving community stories public space, by generating beauty and meaning, by enlisting our creativity in the service of democracy, these artists and activists help to bring about true cultural citizenship, in which all of us see ourselves as belonging, as contributing, and as having value to our families, communities and the larger society. Art nourishes our resilience, cultivating the empathy and imagination that are so needed now.

Come to this talk to understand Mural Arts' work in a larger context and to explore your own role in cultivating creativity and sustainable community.
